The night howls with excitement at this spook-tacular party for all little ghouls and boys. Unearth some of the great entertainment that awaits you at this ghastly bash:

Disney Villains Dance Mix and Mingle!
Some of your favorite baddies from Disney films rock you with this thrilling opening number in front of a ghostly Cinderella Castle. When the number is over, the villains veer into the crowds for meet and greets.

Frontierland
Venture into Frontierland where you might even meet a barbershop quartet of dead cowboys who sing songs in the style of the Dapper Dans. They like “axing” Guests questions and answering with puns as part of their “dead pan” humor.

Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade
The grandmaster of this bone-rattling parade has truly lost his head! A hair-raising ride by the Headless Horseman himself begins the festivities, followed by a collection of frightful floats featuring Disney Characters in Halloween costumes. Get ready for the grave diggers! The Haunted Mansion stars in this delightful parade. It’s really not so scary—just fiendish fun!

Happy HalloWishes
The Ghost Host from the Haunted Mansion invites you to “drop in” as Disney Villains tear up the night with fireworks and wicked remixes of their theme songs. Cruella de Vil, Jafar and Oogie Boogie are just some of the scoundrels who croon their spooky tunes. Feel a chill as creepy colors crawl over Cinderella Castle. The finale casts a spell you will never forget!

Full Ride-Through: Take A Trip Aboard Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Walt Disney World’s newest roller coaster is opening in the Magic Kingdom later this spring, but you can ride it right now in this first-person POV video released by the company on Wednesday.

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train features new audio animatronic characters that use computer graphics to give them a full range of facial expressions.

A video released by the company on Tuesday shows the effect up close.

The new coaster is being billed as a family ride with a height requirement of just 38 inches, or just a tad higher than the 35-inch requirement for the Barnstormer, the park’s “kiddie” coaster.

Construction Walls Come Down at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train achieved another milestone overnight last night, when Walt Disney Imagineering removed the final construction walls from around the attraction.

The Wilderness Must Be Explored!

Wilderness Explorers Base Camp
Wilderness Explorers Base Camp

In 2013, the amazing folks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park opened a new interactive experience for guests of all ages, The Wilderness Explorers!

Just like in the Disney•Pixar film, Up, young Wilderness Explorers  can complete challenges to earn badge stickers for their Wilderness Explorer Handbook – there’s 30 different challenges in all. Each hands-on activity teaches kids something new about the wild animals and wild places inside the Park, including:

  • Veterinary Badge – Help diagnose a sea turtle’s health issue
  • Dinosaur Badge – Join in the exploration for dinosaur fossils
  • Animal Find Badge – Check off each of the animals you see
  • Music Badge – Learn how to play an African drum pattern
  • Yeti Badge – Find Yeti artifacts and hear about the folklore

Participation is included in Park admission and timing for the experience depends on how many badge challenges you wish to complete.

I was lucky enough in August of 2013 to be able to experience it for myself.  I had a fabulous time!

To get started I grabbed a field guide from headquarters—located on the bridge between the Oasis and Discovery Island—or drop by Wilderness Explorer stops in Africa, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Asia and Dinoland U.S.A. to pick one up there.

My first task was to learn the Wilderness Explorer call…

Next I headed toward the Expedition Everest challenge.  On my way to to attraction I came across a Wilderness Explorer Wildlife Field Station.

Here I was able to earn my Animal Call badge by identifying specific calls.

Then it was on to Everest.  My Wilderness Explorer handbook instructed me to set a telescope to a certain elevation and record my findings.  If my finding were correct I earned my badge.

I had so much fun wandering around Animal Kingdom looking for WE outposts and earning my badges.  Not only saws it fun but it was also educational.  In order to get my Yeti badge I had to ask the cast member near the outpost to share stories from his native land about the Yeti.  It was fascinating.

It was such a fun day and such a great way to see and experience Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

I highly recommend it.  By the way, don’t forget to stop by and meet Russell and Dug!
